waiting on labs at the hospital last night
and finally eating some lunch today!!!
After 3 days of not eating this mom started to worry. Yesterday afternoon I called Avery's nutritionist, basically I just wanted to ask when we should worry. She was acting normal, no lethargy or mood swings the only change was her lack of eating so I was not too concerned. I ended up speaking with both her nutritionist and geneticist who were much more concerned than I was. They were worried about dehydration or a possible hyperammonemic episode. We ended up going to the pediatricians office and then off to the hospital for labs. Avery was a champ, she barely cried during her blood draw (which makes me sad bc no two year old should be use to having her blood drawn) and was even fascinated by the needle. Of course, all of her labs came back completely normal. I did however get a call from the on call geneticist who was still concerned even after seeing her perfect labs. He said "if she sneezes funny you need to call us". I hate that they think my kid is a science experiment. Im not sure how we got so lucky. Three days of not eating should send a UCD kid into the hospital. Im thankful there is not anything wrong with her but I hate putting her through all the labs and dr.'s for no reason.
