Please stay little forever

Today was such a bittersweet day. I took Avery to her "meet the teacher night" at preschool, seriously, how is she old enough for preschool. She was so excited. We talked about her school, her teacher and all the fun things about school for the last couple weeks. Once we were home from meet the teacher night, we had some dinner, popped on our pj's and snuggled into our bedtime routine. I read Avery a book and then we talked about her day. I almost started crying when we talked about school, as if I was sending her off to college or something (lord help me when that day comes). For some reason I got so emotional I hopped in her bed with her and snuggled her up (have i told you that Avery is not a snuggler?).  Here's how it went

Mommy: jabbering on and on about preschool, growing up etc.
Avery: Mommy you on my toe
Mommy: continues to jabber
Avery: Mommy on my TOES!!!
Mommy: oh sorry Avery, I guess I should get out of your bed
Avery: Mommy, go to your bed! Get your jammies on...take a shower. Get out of my bed, this Avery's bed.
Mommy: kissed and hugged Avery...in tears walked out of her room and closed the door
