I have a hard time with baby nurseries in general, probable because I don't love "baby" decor. Im not a fan of designing my house in boats, trains, princesses or fairies. I hate how baby items look so ummm babyish. When planning my daughters room both my husband and I were looking for something that would grow with her and I think we eventually achieved that (with the help of my fabulous friend/interior designer). Here is a look at Avery's nursery.
Boy oh boy do I wish Pinterest had been around when I was planning Avery's nursery. I think it would have saved me a lot of time and money. I have no idea how to make a mood board or design board on the computer so Pinterest is where I store all my ideas and this nursery is no exception. After searching the internet for what seemed like days, I finally narrowed it down to one "inspiration picture". Here it is...
We are going for this overall color scheme. I haven't yet decided if we will paint the crib or not, Avery's crib was off white and I prefer the black shown above. We will be getting a new dresser since Avery is still using hers as well as crib sheets, draperies, a rug (found an awesome knock off to this one) and and a light fixture. Im sure there will be a few odds and ends that we pick up and add to the room as well.
This weekend I had my husband clear out the room which we will use for the nursery and I started testing paint colors. I guess you could say Im officially in "nesting" mode. Im getting so excited for this lil guy to arrive and am having so much fun preparing for him.
Here is the room we are using for our baby boys nursery...
The room is currently a home for my old furniture which happens to be broken

I have seen so many paint colors in the last few weeks my head is about to spin off
Testing paint colors on the wall- Im leaning towards the top left color
Sherwin Williams City Scape
Can't wait until the room is done and reveal the final product!!!
